Pole turns up the heat with an Oxford win!

Joey Pole went up to Oxford riding a bad luck streak.   So,  what's the best way to get back on track?
How about a Heat win?  Some would say "okay, that's a start"  Joey did that one better Saturday night,
he pulled off the Double.......his heat AND the 2008 Dunkin Donuts 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway.

They were scrambling around in the pits during the early part of the day.  Team Owner and Father Joe
said "Well, we are just trying a few different things"  I guess saying they found the right set-up is an
understatement.  After starting 7th in the Feature event, Pole was in a dogfight with Maine's #7 Glen Luce
for around 20-25 laps.  Pole eventually moved past Luce and had his eyes set on the leader 2008 ACT
point leader #89 Scott Payea; who himself was in an epic battle for the lead with reigning ACT Champion
#32 Jean-Paul Cyr.  Pole caught both of them and seemed to really hit his marks, as Cyr and Payea both
faded; Pole had to contend with the very fast #51 Ricky Rolfe.  After the second caution of the race, Pole
walked away from Rolfe, Joey stretched his lead out to around 10-12 car lengths before caution #3 came
out on the restart Pole jumped out to the lead but hard charging Rolfe and now NASCAR CWE and ACT
part-time driver #17 Eddie MacDonald were closing in and vying for the top spot.  In the end Pole led
almost 100 of the 150 laps en route to his 3rd Career ACT Victory and 2nd this season.

19 year old ACT Late Model standout Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk will be making his NASCAR Camping World East
debut at Thompson International Speedway on July 12, 2008.

Pole; as he is referred to will be wheeling the #5 Motion Racing Chevrolet of Barney McRae.  Pole and McRae
tested early last week at Thompson and Joey flashed why he is considered a driver to watch out for.  Turning
times of 20.6, 20.3 and 19.8 on the big 5/8 mile of Thompson really proved to McRae that Joey has all the
tools to put on an impressive show this weekend.

McRae said that Joey will qualify great and he expects Pole to show the speed he showed in the previous test
session. “Once he gets acclimated to the 4 speed transmission and the feel of the track, Joey will surprise
more than a few people” exclaimed McRae.

The #5 Motion Racing Chevy will be sponsored primarily by Pole’s Automotive with secondary sponsorships
from N.H. Precision, Mansfield Heliflight and Mustang Microsystems.  Motion racing will send down a full pit
crew to work along side a select few from the Pole Motorsports team.  Neil Woodard of Motion Racing will act
as Crew Chief for the race.  Neil has many years of being a top level Crew Chief most recently the Brian Hoar
race team.  Woodard joined Motion Racing last January.

Joey made his NASCAR Camping World East series at the Pepsi
100 held at Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, CT
on July 12, 2008.

Racing the #5 Motion Racing Chevrolet, Joey qualified in the 16th
position with a time of 20.779 with a speed of 108.282.

Pole's Automotive was the primary sponsor on the #5 for
Saturdays event and many other Companies helping out as well.
The race really showed why, with some seat time Joey will
compete with the best from this division.

The Pole was won by the #1 of Trevor Bayne with a time of 20.359
which mean without virtually any seat time in a CWE car Joey was
only 4 tenths off. That is  very impressive!

Once the race began Joey was a middle of the pack car, he ran
clean and was between 14th and 25th for most of the night.  Many
cautions allowed the patient Joey to work his way up the field and
settle down in the 15th position.  #71 Eddie MacDonald nipped
Joey at the line for 15th spot.  Pole and the team are very
encouraged by the day's events.  Joey received more exposure
than he ever had and that is an important ingredient in the racing
world.

A special thanks to all of the Sponsors/People who made
this possible.  Pole's Automotive, N.H. Precision, Motion
Racing, Mansfield Heliflight, Mustang Microsystems and
Danger Designs.
Joey Pole competed in the second race in a very busy weekend for
the Pole Motorsports Team, after making his NASCAR debut at
Thompson Speedway on July 12, 2008, the Pole team traveled
straight up to Kawartha Speedway.  Kawartha is one of Joey's
favorite track and a smile comes to his face when you mention it.
It's big, has high banks and is very fast.  After the Pole team
prepared Joey's car, what does he do?  He grabs the Pole in
qualifying.

Joey Pole grabs a 3rd place at the 35th Annual TD Banknorth 250 held at Oxford Plains
Speedway and impresses Winner NASCAR Sprint Cup Star Kevin Harvick in the process

Excerpt from the Speed51.com article
Mike Twist

Harvick wouldn't give up the lead after that, but he had a few close pursuers.

First came 19-year-old Joey Pole.  Like Harvick, Pole was making his first Oxford 250 start.  Unlike Harvick,
the ACT Late Model standout didn't have years of big league racing experience to help him.  He did
however a pretty good knowledge of the Oxford track, and Pole knew that the high side was often the quickest
way around the joint.

“That was really the only place that I could run,” said Pole.  “I could run on the bottom, but if I stayed there, we
wouldn't have finished third.  I'd pick up a push coming off the corner.  I wanted to take care of my tires.  The
car really dug up there.  ”Harvick learned a little bit from watching his younger competitor in the mirror.

“I was on the bottom and he was catching me,” said Harvick.  “So I knew that I needed to go up there and try it
or I'd get passed.  Luckily, I saw what he was doing and figured out the outside was ok.  They've told me from
the day that I got here that I needed to run the outside and from the day that I got here, the outside was slow
as hell [for me].  Then 70 laps into the race, the outside was right there.
